To perform copy/paste or clone products you can use toolbar, context
menu or drag-and-drop technology. Also these operations can be performed
with more than one product at once.
Here are a few ways in which Store Manager users can perform copy/paste or clone operation:
- You can use copy/paste
icons. First you have to copy selected product and go to the category you need. When you're pasting the product, you're creating the new one with the new ID number and the postfix "-clone" at the product's name.

You have to choose whether to:
- Assign existing product(s) to current category - when
you're pasting a product in current category, you're making some
changes to the product you copied, not creating a new one,
- Create a copy of products in current category - in this case the only difference between original and copied products is in the category they are assigned to,
- Move products to current category option - this method will remove products from the first category (where they were copied from), and will assign them to current category.
- Clone Products
option is actually similar to a combination of copy and paste buttons. It
will copy selected product and place it to the same category with the
new ID number and the postfix " - clone" at the product's name. This way
is easier and faster than copy/paste.
- Finally, you can use Drag&Drop technology to
copy/paste, assign or move your products. Just highlight a few products,
drag them and then just drop on any of the category names. You'll see exactly
the same method to copy products' list. You may select from:
- Assigning existing product(s) to current category - when
you're pasting a product in current category, you're making some
changes to the product you copied, not creating a new one),
- Creating a copy of products in current category - in this case the only difference between original and copied products is the category they are assigned to,
- Moving products to current category option - this method will remove products from the first category (where they were copied from), and will assign to current category.
